The electric power steering assist module can fail, leading to sudden loss of power steering, making the vehicle difficult to control. While subject to recalls, secondary failures are common.
Many 2.4L Ecotec engines suffer from excessive oil consumption due to faulty piston rings, leading to low oil levels if not diligently monitored, which can cause catastrophic engine damage. The 3.6L V6 can experience timing chain stretch.
