2009 Ford Mustang: Buy or Avoid?

The 2009 Ford Mustang offers an enticing blend of classic muscle car styling and performance, but it comes with a few significant caveats. While the 4.6L V8 powertrain can be quite durable, the common 4.0L V6 engine presents a notable risk with its timing chain issues. Proceed with caution and a thorough pre-purchase inspection to ensure you're getting one of the better examples on the road.

Biggest Strengths

  • Robust 4.6L V8 engine when properly maintained
  • Simple, proven rear-wheel-drive platform
  • Excellent parts availability and aftermarket support
